Letter To All Parents From
A Concerned Parent
January, 2001
Ladies and Gentlemen:
Re: Kid-Safe Productions Musical
"Bugs, Bubbles and Blobs"
Being a mother of a 3 year old boy
and a 5 year old girl, I am very choosy about the types
of entertainment my children are involved with. Whether
it be a movie or an educational presentation.
I am particularly wary when so-called
educators present live theatre to young children, especially
on the subject of abuse, divorce or any other social
issue that affects children.
When I heard about Bugs, Bubbles and
Blobs, my radar went up immediately and I worried about
the kind of language and images my children might perceive.
I was gladly mistaken. Not only was
the show entertaining for me, but my 3 year old son,
whose only interest seems to be trains, sat still, entranced
by the music and the messages portrayed in this lively
and gentle play.
When we got back home, despite the
fact that the play was aimed at a slightly older child
than my son, I even heard him repeating lines and important
messages like "stop" and "my space". I'm glad now that
we had a chance to experience an important subject together
and that his first encounter with live theatre was so
rewarding.
Sincerely,
K.S. Menard
