The No-Nonsense Guide to Kid's Bullying Solutions

For kids who like to learn on the computer, there's a great new CD-ROM called "The No-Nonsense Guide To Kids’ Bullying Solutions" and it’s put out by a new group called Champions Against Bullying.

Champions Against Bullying was started in 2004. The CD-ROM was created by Delfina Moore and Alex Penn, an experienced writer and editor. They got most of their information for the CD by working in the field and talking to parents, kids, teachers, doctors and psychologists.

They talked to parents of victims of bullying who had said that there is a strong code of silence around the topic of bullying and that they didn't have this kind of information at their finger tips when they needed it. Kids say "nobody is really talking to us" and teachers have said it is a difficult topic to discuss in class.

This CD-ROM seems to have plenty of answers for everybody - and that means parents, kids, teachers and even doctors - looking to learn the basics of bullying and get their questions answered.

Questions such as:

• What is bullying and why are some people bullied?
• What are bystanders and how can they help?
• What is cyber bullying?
  

There’s an excellent and informative section for parents on gangs too. Overall, "The No-Nonsense Guide To Kids’ Bullying Solutions" is an easy-to-read, well-organized, inter-active and colourful guide. There are solutions provided for both prevention and intervention and it gets our vote for content.

The CD-ROM is (unfortunately) only available for PC but we’ve been assured that a MAC version is coming soon for all you MAC lovers out there (us included). This isn't a slick, mass-marketed disc, but it contains a lot of very valuable information.
