Full Event Description and Agenda
- 11:00 a.m. Free Family Fun - Delicious BBQ, a children's
play called Bugs, Bubbles, and Blobs, music and lots
of other family, as well as children's activities
- 1:00 p.m. Speeches from invited guests including
Honorary Ride Marshall Ontario Attorney General David
Young, M.C. Mark Dailey, P.C. Ken Doige and Ellen
Campbell, Executive Director of the Canadian Centre
for Abuse Awareness/Martin Arnold Kruze Memorial Fund
- 1:30 p.m. START YOUR ENGINES! Over 100 riders will
depart Queen's Park and continue to Sibbald Point
Provincial Park, Lake Simcoe in Sutton, Ontario
- 3:00 p.m. Upon arrival at Sibbald Point Provincial
Park, you will be a part of the official arrival ceremonies
and be served a luncheon feast
- 5:00 p.m. Riders return to Toronto
- 6:30 p.m. Convergence at Toronto's SkyDome where
you will be featured as part of the "2001 Toronto
Police Games".
Please be advised that this ride
will serve as a public awareness campaign, as well as
a fundraiser for the Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness
(CCAA) / Martin Arnold Kruze Memorial Fund. Supported
by his office, the Honorable Attorney General David
Young will be participating as a rider in this First
Annual Law Enforcement Motorcycle Ride For the Prevention
of Child Abuse. The event will also provide an opportunity
to recognize Ontario Police Officers for their long-standing
commitment to the prevention of child abuse. All funds
raised from the Ride will go directly to benefit the
CCAA, an organization dedicated to the prevention of
child abuse. You are not required to pay anything to
participate as a rider but we encourage you to have
your friends and co-workers sponsor you.
We have already received support
from various police services from across the province
including the OPP, Toronto Police Service, Waterloo
Regional Police, York Regional Police and Peterborough/Lakefield
Police. Combined, this represents approximately 100
Police Motorcycles to date.
